Air Kenya
is a pioneer safari airline based in Nairobi, Kenya that offers an unrivalled network around
all the world-famous safari destinations in East Africa. With incredible charter flights to
the various internationally recognised destinations, this airline accommodates the travel needs
of some of the most important & influential people and as such required a revamp to their
out-dated interior to showcase why they are the premiere safari airline that they are.
Working very closely with the airline and interior designer appointed for the revamp, we collaboratively designed
and then fabricated all the furniture for the various spaces, starting with all the seating for the waiting
lounge out which was made out of imported plywood from Wisa Plywood and finished with a clear sealant
to maintain a natural look and durability. The same natural look plywood was adopted for the furniture across
all the new spaces with the new check-in counter and shop counter made from the laminated cross section of
the Wisa Plywood boards. To accent the plywood, solid Mvule timber and off-white / cream
stone work was used on work tops, displays and service counters.
On the upper floor was their updated café and restaurant, the new home to a spectacular 20 of our
popular
Sixties Lounge Chairs,
10 of which were the newly conceptualised, prototyped and fabricated
Twin Sixties Lounge Chairs.
Finished in our signature natural oils and waxes, these lounge chairs made from solid Mvule timber are the perfect
spot to sit back and enjoy the view of the busy Wilson Airport runway.
